Need more sports in your life? No problem. New stand-alone sports streaming platform Kayo has landed and made it easier than ever to watch all your favourite teams and matches online, live and on demand.
So what'll it cost you? Read on to get your game on.
What does Kayo cost?
Kayo plans are offered across two price tiers. Each price gets you access to absolutely all of Kayo's content. What changes is how many screens you use to watch simultaneously.
Which Kayo plan is for me?
Both Kayo plans will get you access to all Kayo content, with the freedom to watch in any resolution up to HD. (Kayo doesn't offer 4K content at the time of writing.)
That means the only thing you need to think about when choosing a plan is how many people in your household will be watching at the same time.
With a Basic subscription, you can watch on up to two screens simultaneously, which means you could be keeping up with the cricket downstairs, while your kids binge on motorsports upstairs. With Premium you get three simultaneous screens, so add to that scenario your folks watching golf in the guest room.
Before you make a decision, it's important to note that 'simultaneous screens' is different to 'split-screen'. 'Split-screen' is one of Kayo's flagship features, allowing you two watch up to four games or programs on the one screen at the same time. But even if you split your screen across four different games, it still only counts as one screen. So you can still have a separate group or groups in your household watching on Kayo on other screens at the same time.
Can I try Kayo before I buy?
Yes. Kayo offers a 14-day free trial for new customers, which is available on either plan tier and will give you access to the full Kayo content library during that time.
However, you will need to provide your credit card details to register for the trial. It's important to note that you'll automatically be charged for the plan of your choice after your 14 days are up. The exact billing date and amount for your chosen plan can be found under your account settings, which you can access by logging in to the Kayo website.
What else do I need to know about Kayo?
If you want to get the most out of a Kayo subscription, you'll need an internet plan with enough data to handle everything you want to watch and a connection that's fast enough.
In general, we recommend that serious streamers get a plan with at least 500GB per month. Unlimited data plans are best if you don't want to monitor your usage, and they're now available almost everywhere, including on the NBN.
If you're an NBN subscriber, even an NBN 12 plan is fast enough for Kayo. However, if you have more than one person in your household, we'd recommend going for an NBN 50 plan. That way you'll have enough bandwidth to stream and do other things with your connection at the same time.
Here are just a few unlimited data NBN 50 plans in our database.
